The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Quality Lead (or Senior Quality Engineer ready to grow into a leadership role) to architect and implement our quality framework from the ground up. You will play a pivotal role in embedding a quality mindset across the organization, ensuring our systems, processes, and products meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a fit-for-purpose Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
• Lead quality assurance across product development, prototyping, testing, and early-stage manufacturing.
• Define and implement safety and compliance frameworks, including lab/workshop safety and PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and suppliers (Tier 1 & Tier 2) to define and enforce quality requirements.
• Conduct root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and execute internal and supplier audit programs.
• Define and monitor key quality metrics (e.g., yield, defect rates, field performance).
• Mentor junior team members and build a quality team as the company grows.
• Act as a quality architect with a helicopter view—balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution.

• 8+ years in quality engineering roles, ideally in deep tech, clean tech, HVAC, or thermodynamics.
• Strong background in industrialisation, testing, supplier quality, and project-based QA.
• Experience with building & managing a team of quality professionals
• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.
• Familiarity with DFMEA/PFMEA, reliability testing, and compliance certification.
• Proven ability to work in R&D and production environments.
• Experience with startups or scale-ups transitioning from R&D to production
