Test Embedded Software Engineer
About BlueHeart Energy:
BlueHeart Energy was founded in 2016 as a deep-tech company that has developed a new sustainable thermoacoustics technology to radically improve the performance of heat pumps, enabling them to evolve from being the best solution in the market to becoming the perfect solution. Our technology is a disruptive approach to generate heat and cold, with potential to revolutionize the whole industry.
With our so called 'Blue Heart' inside, heat pumps turn into affordable, silent and flexible devices, capable of working with wide temperature ranges suitable for both new and existing houses. Importantly, BlueHeart doesn’t require any refrigerants and doesn’t generate any CO2e emissions.
About the Role:
Join Our ESC Team as a Test Embedded Software Engineer
Are you passionate about embedded systems and driven by the challenge of ensuring software quality in complex electronic environments? Do you thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team where your work directly impacts the performance and safety of cutting-edge technologies? If so, we’d love to meet you.
As a Test Embedded Software Engineer in our Electronics, Software and Controls (ESC) team, you’ll play a key role in verifying and validating embedded software that powers our next-generation systems. You’ll work closely with software developers, hardware engineers, and system architects to design and implement robust test strategies that ensure our products meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for embedded software.
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for low-level drivers, middleware, and application layers.
- Collaborate with developers to define testable software requirements and improve test coverage.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and support debugging efforts.
- Contribute to continuous integration and continuous testing pipelines.
- Support software-in-the-loop (SIL) and processor in the loop (PIL) testing environments.
- Provide technical support to embedded software engineers in application development
- Assist in optimizing and integrating embedded components of advanced motor control algorithms
What You Bring
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python.
- Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Seedling, Jenkins).
- Experience working with USB, Modbus and Ethernet communication protocols.
- A structured, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for quality and reliability.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
Nice to Have
- Experience with model-based development and testing (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
- Knowledge of other communication protocols like CAN, SPI, or I2C.
- Exposure to safety-critical software development.
- Driver license
Why Join Us?
At BlueHeart Energy, you’re not just testing software—you’re helping shape the future of intelligent thermal acoustic engines. You’ll be part of a supportive, innovative team that values your input and encourages continuous learning. Whether you're refining test strategies or diving deep into embedded code, your work will make a real impact.
